Embedded complex waveform generators from Highland Technology

Highland Technology releases two new members of its T340 series of embedded complex waveform generators. The T344 and T346 have evolved from the budget-priced 2 MHz T340 waveform generator, and the parallel V340-series VME modules. Smaller than a paperback, the T346 outperforms rackmount instruments costing far more. It features four output channels capable of generating standard and arbitrary waveforms from microHz to 32 MHz, and four additional internal channels usable as modulation and summing sources. Channels can also be pulse/PWM and Gaussian noise sources, and can be summed with or modulate one another in any combination.

The T346 waveform generator is a compact 4-channel, 32 MHz waveform generator. It incorporates four DDS waveform synthesizers that may be used independently or synchronously to produce coherent signals. Waveforms include sine, triangle, sawtooth, Gaussian noise, and precision pulse/PWM outputs. User-loaded arbitrary waveforms may be generated. Four additional waveform generators are provided internally as modulation/summing sources. Channel-channel modulation capability allows generation of sweeps, chirps, I/Q and constellations, and calibrated jitter, and simulation of a wide range of radar, communications, power, encoders, and electro-mechanical systems. Modulations include AM, FM, PM, and PWM. The T344 version is a four channel ARB without modulations.

The T344 is a compact 4-channel, 32 MHz waveform generator. It incorporates four DDS waveform synthesizers that may be used independently or synchronously to produce polyphase signals. Waveforms include sine, triangle, sawtooth, noise, and precision square/PWM outputs. User-loaded arbitrary waveforms may be generated. Test relays allow any output to be diverted to a test connector for in-system calibration verification. Built-In-Self-Test is provided.
