Martek Power Abbott recently announced the addition of two highpower, multi-channel models to the 28V Input DC-DC converter family. The new models, CB150D and CB225T, are available at 2 Vdc, 3.3Vdc, 5 Vdc, 5.2 Vdc, 12Vdc, 15Vdc, 24Vdc and 28Vdc outputs, expanding the choice of output power of the CB series DC to DC power converter to a range of 5 to 225 Watts. The models are unique and highly reliable commercial off the shelf (COTS) converters with multiple independent 75-Watts output designed for applications in military, industrial and aerospace.

Measuring in 2.28 x 2.90 x .0.50 inch (57.9 x 73.7 x 12.7 mm) in size, the CB150D is a 150 watt device with 2 independent 75-Watts output channels. The CB225T measuring
2.28 x 4.35 x 0.50 inch (57.9 x 110.5 x 12.7mm) in size, is a triple output module with 3 independent 75-Watts output channels. Both dc-dc converters feature a wide input range of 16 to 40 Vdc and a power density of 45 watt/in3. Standard product features include remote turn on/off (TTL), output overvoltage trim pin, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, fixed frequency (500kHz) conversion and synchronization input. All models are available in I (unscreened) and M (screened) grades, and boosting efficiency as high as 84%. These together with full specified performance over an operating temperature range of 55°C to +100°C from no load to full load make the two new models unique in the mission critical market segment.

The CB family of high-density DC-DC converters, which are designed as military grade stand alone units, can also be integrated in complex power systems. Sufficient capacitance on the input and output, internal to the unit, allows for simple use and operation with no external components in most applications.
